Chocolate Cake


Recipe for a yummy/moist chocolate cake




Easy One-Bowl Chocolate Cake- Martha Stewart
oven: 325 (for a cake); 350 (for cupcakes)

3/4 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup warm water
3/4 cup buttermilk*
2 eggs
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 heapin' spoonfuls sour cream (optional; i added this for extra moist-ness)

Sift cocoa powder, flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and, baking powder into a large bowl. Add water, buttermilk, eggs, oil, vanilla, and sour cream (if desired), and mix together until smooth.

For cupcakes bake at 350 for about 17-20 minutes, for cake bake at 325 for 27-32 minutes, always until a toothpick inserted in center comes out mostly clean with a few clingy crumbs.

This recipe will make:
-2, 8-inch cakes
-1, 9 by 13 cake
-18 cupcakes
