Roasted Garlic is something so simple you can do to take your food to that next level of delicious-ness!
As the garlic roasts, the flavor becomes more mellow- so mellow in fact that you could pop an a whole clove in your mouth and munch (not that i did this. . twice. . ). And its soo easy!! Can you imagine garlic bread with this? oh man.

Roasted Garlic
oven: 400
Garlic Heads (however many ya want)
About 1/2 to 1 tsp. olive oil per head
Foil to wrap the garlic heads in (individually)
1) Cut the tops off the garlic heads, so that each clove is exposed (like picture at top). Drizzle with olive oil, wrap in foil. Place foil packages on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for about 25-35 minutes, until the cloves are golden and browned (and your entire kitchen smells like an Italian restaurant).
To Use: Squeeze out the cloves, and smash up. Smear on top of chicken and grill. Stir into mashed potatoes. Mix into a little softened butter, spread on top of french bread slices, and toast in the oven until browned. Add to your favorite bread dough. . ladies and gentlemen, I don't believe this list ever ends.

what kind of garlic the heads of the garlic I get are not this large
ReplyDeleteYOU CAn buy elephant garlic, which is bigger, but I use regular garlic. I think these look big because the camera is close up.
ReplyDeleteHow long will these last in the fridge? I have some garlic I want to roast for use in maybe a few days, not right away.
ReplyDeleteMy guess is anywhere from 3-6 days.
Delete...I love garlic, so mine didn't last more than a day or two!
