Ultimate Easter Crispy Treats

When I say ultimate, this is not an exaggeration. Though I am definitely prone to making a story a little more dramatic from time to time, this is not one of those times.

These crispy treats are dangerous. As in they contain sixlets, peeps (bright blue ones, of course), AND rainbow sprinkles- in addition to the marshmallows, butter, and cereal. These are for real. For real dangerous. And for real tasty.

Are you ready?

Of course you are. Because the Ultimate Easter Crispy Treats are not only tastily dangerous, but also ridiculously easy (they're pimped out rice crispy treats, of course they're easy).

So here we go.

Ultimate Easter Crispy Treats
1, 10.5 oz bag of mini marshmallows
1/4 cup butter
4 cups rice crispies
3-4 peeps, roughly chopped (I know, it felt a little wrong to chop the cute little guys)
about 1/3 cup Sixlets (the amount is really your preference)
1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles (I used jimmies)

1) In a large bowl, combine the rice crispies, peeps, and sixlets (the sixlets will settle to the bottom, but that's ok). Don't add the sprinkles yet*. Grease a 9 by 13 pan, set aside.

2) In a large saucepan, melt together the butter and marshmallows until completely combined and melt-y. Remove from heat. Before pouring on top of the cereal/candy mixture, pour the sprinkles on top of the marshmallow mixture without mixing them in. Then pour that on top of the cereal/candy mixture and stir with a spoon (or your hands- greasing them with a little spray first) until everything is coated. Press into the greased 9 by 13 pan and let sit about an hour to set up. Then slice and serve.

*I wait to add the sprinkles so they don't settle to the bottom. My fear is that they are so small, they won't end up incorporated. To fix that issue, I add them to the marshmallow mixture first, and then stir that into the cereal/candy.

    1. They are a marshmallow Easter candy covered in colored sprinkles- usually in the shape of either bunnies or ducks :)
