I have made this recipe over and over and really love it. Give 'em a shot and let me know what you think!

1/2 cup cake flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
5 tablespoons salted butter, cold*
1/2 cup milk (I used skim)

1) Preheat oven to 450F.

2) Mix together flours, salt, and baking powder. Using a pastry cutter, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse meal and butter is in pieces about the size of peas. Stir in milk with a spoon, mixing only until all ingredients are moistened and mixture begins to form a ball.

3) Pat out dough on a floured surface, patting out to about 3/4 inch thick. Using a round cookie/biscuit cutter, cut circles about 2 inches in diameter. Place next to each other on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 13-15 minutes until golden brown.

*To make even tender-er biscuits, try replacing half the butter with butter flavored shortening.

    1. This should make 6-8 biscuits, depending on how large your cookie/biscuit cutter is.
